New Series on Ecclesiastes
We are starting a new series of talks on the book of Ecclesiastes. “Book of what?” Yep, a little known book called Ecclesiastes that has a big message for our world today.
Life has a way of confronting us with questions we don’t always feel prepared to answer. We chase success, build routines, and try to make sense of the world around us—yet underneath it all, there are moments when things feel uncertain, repetitive, or even meaningless.
We don’t always say it out loud, but many of us have wondered: Is this really it? Is there more to life than what I can see?
The Old Testament book of Ecclesiastes speaks directly into that tension. It doesn’t offer quick fixes or shallow encouragement. Instead, it invites us into an honest conversation about what life is really like. Written from the perspective of “The Preacher,” Ecclesiastes takes a long, hard look at the world and refuses to ignore its complexities.
And that’s exactly why we’re calling this new series: Let’s Be Real.
Throughout this series, we’ll journey through Ecclesiastes together, listening to the reflections of someone who has experienced it all—success, pleasure, wisdom, and wealth—only to discover that none of it ultimately satisfies on its own. The Preacher’s words can feel raw at times, even unsettling, but they are also deeply insightful. They strip away illusions and challenge us to see life with clarity.
Rather than offering easy answers, Ecclesiastes helps us ask better question about such things as:
- work
- pleasure
- knowledge and wisdom
- possessions and wealth
- freedom of speech
What does it mean to live wisely in a world that often feels unpredictable?
How do we respond when life doesn’t seem fair?
Where can we find lasting meaning when everything around us feels temporary?
These are not new questions—but they are incredibly relevant ones.
What makes Ecclesiastes so powerful is its realism. It acknowledges that life can feel fleeting and confusing, but it doesn’t leave us there. Instead, it gently points us toward a deeper truth: that real wisdom is found not in controlling life, but in understanding our place within it—and ultimately, in trusting God.
In a culture that often encourages us to avoid discomfort or mask our struggles, this series is an invitation to do something different. To slow down. To reflect. To be honest about our doubts and questions. To embrace the reality of life while seeking the wisdom that God offers in the midst of it.
Whether you’re full of faith, wrestling with doubt, or simply curious about life’s bigger questions, this series is for you.
Join us as we explore Ecclesiastes together—learning to face life as it truly is, and discovering a kind of wisdom that is grounded, honest, and lasting.
